Your Baby’s PhotoShoot
I absolutely love the 5 to 6 months for your baby photoshoot; your baby is learning to sit up and although perhaps not able to sit up unaided, we have baby chairs that can help with this, and PhotoShop which can edit out parents’ arms making sure they don’t fall. And at this age, their personality is really shining through and it’s an age I just so enjoy photographing.
My studio baby photo sessions are very relaxed in a lovely warm, bright and airy environment, specially designed so that it looks like a soft play area for your baby – soft toys and props are on show in the studio so you have lots of choice for your photoshoot. And you are welcome to bring along your fur babies / dogs too if you wish.
On arrival, we discuss the shots that you’d like before we start. I have various backdrops that you can choose from too, many of which can be seen in the gallery of images – to view please Click here. I have a few outfits we can use and many many props, I have toys to make them giggle and laugh … but you are welcome to bring their favourites to encourage their best smiles.

Our fur babies are like our human babies – very treasured members of our families … we are a nation of dog lovers and I am obsessed by 2 little shih tzus Martha and Murphy.
I would have them in the studio all the time for Pet Portraits, but they don’t sit for me and it’s hard work to get pics of them together … and I hear this time and time again from customers too. They would love a Dog Photoshoot and pics of their dog or dogs together but they won’t sit still for a minute! ALL doggies are the same … but there are ways of getting the most wonderful shots of doggies together or on their own, without any stress at all. So book in and see how. Welcome to Shy Violet Photography – Cake Smashing since 2010! Where sitting on the cake is an absolute must!! 🙂
It’s just the best way to celebrate the 1st Birthday.…as Elle found out when she came to the studio to celebrate with a Cake Smash Photoshoot And she bought her best friend Olivia to join in too .. pics below. What a little character she was … she had the best time – favouring more the gold ballons than the cake but she still smashed it. She was all smiles throughout loving the tub and the bubbles the best.

Welcome to Shy Violet Photography – Cake Smashing since 2010! Where sitting on the cake is an absolute must!! 🙂
One of the first Cake Smash Photographers in the NorthWest if not THE first … and even though it’s been 12 years of gooey cakey mess – these cake smash photoshoots never get any less Fun … they are just such a good time for you, your baby and for me!
It’s just the best way to celebrate the 1st Birthday….as George found out when he came to the studio to celebrate with a Cake Smash Photoshoot What a little character he was … he made us laugh outloud all the way through – from the moment he got onto the mat he was full of it … throwing his arms in the air almost every time he looked at the camera. His parents loved it too and I’ve posted below their amazing review:
“We could not recommend Gaynor enough! Our little guy George had his 1st birthday cake smash and had the best afternoon of his life! Gaynor had so much time and patience whilst he ran round wild (with cake everywhere) and the photos absolutely show it! At no point did we feel rushed, it felt more like she could have just kept photographing George all afternoon! We couldn’t have asked for better results. We were made to feel so welcome and at ease as soon as we entered the studio, there is so much room and things to keep the little ones occupied – the heater that was moved to keep our little guy warm the entire time was the loveliest touch! Welcome to Shy Violet Photography – run by me, Gaynor
I have been specialising in Newborn and Baby Photography since 2006 and love it as much now as I did when I started … probably more so.
So much so that I have now created www.tinyvioletsphotography.co.uk. This is my new website dedicated to Newborn Photography – and prices are published on this website too (same as shown on Shy Violet Photography).
.My favourite time to capture your newborn baby is between 6 and 12 days – and I do go up to 4 weeks. Newborn photoshoots are all about capturing their tiny features and newborn appearance … and if newborns are not asleep it’s very hard to keep an awake newborn in a lovely curled up sleepy position. After 2 weeks, newborns are so much more alert and after 4 they just do not sleep enough for us to achieve the best images of your newborn baby.
I welcome siblings and dogs to jjoin in and of course full family pics too. All package options for Newborn Photos on the website can include family, sibling and shots with your furry friends. I love dogs and enjoy creating the newborn images with furry best friends.
