The gorgeous curled up, sleepy Newborn Baby stage is too precious for words and way way to cute to miss. My very favourite time to capture your newborn baby is between 6- 12 days young and up to 4 weeks. If newborn babies are born earlier than the due date then very often the 4 week rule doesn’t apply quite so much.
I have a lovely warm studio with lots of soft seating, so you can relax during the photoshoot, whilst I capture your wee newborn baby – images of which can be seent by clicking here. It’s a large, airy space but I keep it lovely and warm for your little newborn arrival.

I have been enjoying Newborn and Baby Photography since 2006 – Tiny Violets is my NEW Newborn dedicated website … which if you click on this link it will take you directy to the webiste where you will find lots of info, images and pricing. Tiny Violets is part of Shy Violet Photography which caters for all Baby, family, cake smash, 1st birthday photo shoots.
I love keeping things fresh with new ideas, backdrops and outfits and I have a wonderful seamstress who creates bespoke outfits, made especially for me so many you won’t see anywhere else. Newborn Outfits are not for everyone … and I cater for all aspects of newborn photography – from the very natural shots with little to no props, to the more elaborate, newborn art ideas – lots of which can be seen by clicking here to view the newborn image gallery.
My very favourite time for a newborn photoshoot is between 6- 12 days young and up to 4 weeks… this in my experience is the best time to capture the very sleepy curled up shots. Tiny Violets Photography has been created as a dedicated newborn photography service for all your teeny weeny newborns between 6 days and 4 weeks althought my very favourite time to capture your newborn baby is between 6 and 12 days. Tiny Violets is part of the larger company Shy Violet Photography – both run by me, photographer, Gaynor 🙂
Over the past few weeks, I have to say, I’ve had a lot more newborn baby girls than boys, But I have newborn outfits for both boys and girls, many of which are made especially for me.
I cannot show all the outfits on the website as there are too many that I’ve collected over the last 16 years of newborn photography – but click here to view the image gallery showing you different outfits and ideas. A lot of my outfits for both boys and girls are bespoke, made especially for me by a very talented seamstress using tops and jumpers we find in various charity shops.
I cater for all those parents who love the more natural shots with little to no props – to – those who love the newborn art using props, swings, pails and lots lots more – and again these can be seen in the gallery on the above link.

Welcome to Shy Violet Photography – Cake Smashing since 2010! And even though it’s been over 12 years of gooey cakey mess – these cake smash photoshoots never get any less Fun … they are just the best time for you, your baby …. and for me!
It’s a great way to celebrate the 1st Birthday….as Sonny found out when he came to the studio to celebrate with a Cake Smash Photoshoot At first he wasn’t too sure whatit was all about … but he soon got stuck in and what a little character he was. With returing cusotmers I always offer a mini famly shoot at the start of the session, this can be just siblings or the whole familiy … Pics of Sonny posing with his older brother Lennon are below … (Lennon also came for his cake smash with me 8 years ago!!)

Following the newborn stage, for me the next best time to capture your baby in a Baby Photo Shoot is from about 5 months old … they are often sitting up (not often unaided) and showing lots and lots of personality.
I absolutely love this very smiley / giggly stage and it’s no problem if your baby is not sitting up without help as we have baby chairs that can help with this, and PhotoShop which can edit out parents’ arms making sure they don’t fall.
My studio baby photo sessions are very relaxed in a lovely warm, bright and friendly environment, specially designed so that it looks like a soft play area for your baby – soft toys and props are on show in the studio so you have lots of choice for your photoshoot. And you are welcome to bring along any props you wish … even your pet / dog if you’d like photos of them together.
On arrival, we discuss the shots that you’d like before we start. I have various backdrops that you can choose from too, many of which can be seen in the gallery of images – to view please Click here. I have many many props and I have toys to make them giggle and laugh … and you are welcome to bring their favourites to encourage their best smiles.
