Celebrate Your Family – Portrait Photography
This lockdown has not been a good time for so many … but I think in a lot of cases, it has brought families closer.
Celebrate this time – capture your family with a family portrait photography shoot. You can invite grandparents – other family members – make it a Photography Party!
At Shy Violet Photography, we now have 2 wonderful studios … Studio A for Newborn, Babies and Cake Smash which is smaller and cosy, and a large studio, Studio B for family portrait photo sessions and can cater for small families of 3 or 4 – up to 20.
As a general rule we offer the family portrait photo sessions on a white backdrop, but we can offer lots of other ideas too – please feel free to discuss any specific requirements you might have with us.
We are happy to offer a Combination Photo Shoot, where we can incorporate family shots on the white… and a second option for your little ones – just some of my ideas include a Bubbles Shoot, Vintage Shoot, Fun Shoot on a Colour of your choice using balloons, pompoms, bunting.
If the weather is good, we can always go into the woods in the studio grounds to get some lovely outdoor shots.
Following your photo session with Shy Violet Photography, a Gallery of images will be online for 3 weeks on our Customer Only GALLERY website where you will be able to view your images in the privacy of your own home, and as many times as you like.

Fun & Messy Cake Smashing – we provide the Cake!
We are now taking bookings for your little one’s 1st birthdays in the coming months … Deposits have been reduced to £10 (usually £39) at this current time.
At Shy Violet Photography, we call our Cake Smash photo sessions our ‘Happimess’ sessions All our Cake Smash packages include a fabulous big personalised cake. We call this our standard cake. Examples of this can be seen in our gallery of images OR click here to view package options and the other, various cakes we offer – all at hugely discounted rates. Myla had the most gorgeous pink cake with light blue and white polka dots as her mum had chosen our light blue backdrop – it all looked very colourful and girly.
Our new 8″ taller Polka dot cake is our new look cake for the cake smash for 2020. You can choose from a variety of colours and you can choose 3 colours for the polka dot icing discs too. We can then colour coordinate balloons, pompoms and bunting.
Meet Myla …. who’s session had a pink and blue theme. The session started with our large wooden ‘one’ letters which I later colour coordinated in Photoshop. This was followed by the Cake Smash and Myla loved this – getting very messy very quickly!! Myla also loved the tub and bubbles bit too – all in all lots of fun and laughter had by all.

Meet Vivaan …. who’s session started with a very serious face. We did the ‘I am One’ pic with Vivaan with all the letters spelling ‘One’ (pic below) and his cake smash started very seriously with a lot of frowning – his mum and dad told me that he wasn’t a big smiler!! But then I think when he realised how much fun it was going to be, he was all smiles and laughing a lot! And he loved the tub and bubbles bit too – very relaxed with no splashing but lots of giggles.

And when she’d smashed it and eaten enough …We then put her into our posing roll top baby bath, put the bubbles on and let her relax and play in the tub … she loved it – loved the bubbles and the splashing.

The Cake Smash doesn’t have to be done on the 1st Birthday … it’s a celebration of turning One – and remember they will be one for 12 months … so during these uncertain times, why not book a PROVISIONAL Cake Smash to celebrate this milestone later this year. This way you will have something fab and fun to look forward to.
I am now taking provisional future bookings and instead of the usual £39 deposit, I am just taking £10 on booking. Only when we are sure the shoot can go ahead will the remainder of the deposit become payable. And dates can always be rearranged if necessary.

At the moment, we are all very unsure of what the situation will be in the coming weeks (possibly months) and I am sure that many of you will still have wanted Newborn Photos of your new arrival, but due to the CoronaVirus will have had to cancel and I’m sure you’ll be sad that you missed these early day shots.
I specialise in Baby Photography and I love the 5-6 months stage, where you baby is really smiling and laughing and showing lots of personality – possibly even trying to sit up unaided. I am now taking provisional future bookings and instead of the usual £49 deposit, I am just taking £10 on booking. Only when we are sure the shoot can go ahead will the remainder of the deposit become payable.

1st Birthday Cake Smash – we make the cake!
Anabia’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
Anabia’s mum rang me saying that she wanted a black and white striped background for her daughter’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash. I only have the plain colours for my cake smash shoots, so my customer said they would bring their own. Dad made this from some wallpaper they found and it actually worked very well indeed. So if you don’t like any of my plain backdrops … you can always bring your own – LOL!
The colour scheme was black and white, with gold and hot pink – so my cake maker made the cake in a hot pink with coordinating polka dots. This new 8″ taller Polka dot cake is our new look cake for the cake smash for 2020. I just love it and it’s actually the perfect height for sitting babies on – like a baby stool 🙂 We do have other cakes available at an additional cost – please ask for details.
Anabia had quite a sedate cake smash – in that there was more eating of the cake than smashing! And when she’d eaten enough …We then put her into our posing roll top baby bath, put the bubbles on and let him relax and play in the tub … she loved it – loved the bubbles and the splashing.
