At Shy Violet Photography, we now have 2 wonderful studios … however, when the warmer weather comes, it’s always nice to go outdoors and get some natural shots in natural surroundings.
We are happy to offer a Combination Photo Shoot, where we can incorporate Studio and Outdoor shots in the woodland and fields on our premises (weather permitting). Or we can arrange an outdoor shoot at somewhere of your choosing, or at the local beauty spot in Saddleworth: ‘Dovestones’.

At Shy Violet Photography, we have been doing the 1st birthday baby cake smash 7.5 years and have only recently introduced our Doggy/Puppy Cake Smash photo session.
The Doggy smash can be done at any age and for any reason … recently we have had 1st birthday, a rescue doggy and one doggy getting over a heart operation … what could be more of a treat for your fur baby?
Our Dog Cake Smash sessions come with a big bright and beautiful personalised cake made especially for your in a choice of colours and full of dog treats. Then depending on the size of your doggy, finishing with our Rub-a-Dub was off in our posing roll top baby bath with bubbles or one of our vintage pales.

At Shy Violet Photography, we offer you the very natural newborn photography together with the more creative side too.

Our favourite time to capture your newborn baby is between 4-6 days and up to 12 days young. Our newborn photography sessions are up to 3 hours long as we like to allow time for feeding, soothing and cuddles throughout. During this time, we create all the natural shots using various blankets and hats/ headbands if you wish. Then it’s post shoot that we create the many many beautiful prop ideas that we have … including our new Pencil Art.
For info … ALL sessions can include sibling and family shots, and package prices (as shown on our website – click here) include as many props as you like and all editing/retouching required. We discuss in full your requirements at the start of your session.

A Smashing 1st Birthday!
1st Birthday Cake Smash
Specialists in the cake smash, with over 7 years experience … we now call our Cake Smash sessions our 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one to celebrate the 1st Birthday – offering you many colour schemes and themes.
The fun starts with the ‘I am ONE\ shoot, where we get your little one to pose with giant O, N and E letters and/ or smaller cream wooden ones. We also have a large flowery ‘1’ for the girls.
This is then followed by the Cake Smash with a big bright and beautiful personalised cake made especially for you in a choice of colours. And our cake smash sessions are not for you if you don’t like alot of mess! ~But remember, it’s our mess to clear up.
We then finish with our Rub-a-Dub shoot which is where we wash off all that cake in our posing roll top baby bath with bubbles.
This usually lasts around an hour and 15 mins, depending on how much your baby is loving it all. And what’s not to love. A photo session that is just full of genuine smiles and lots of laughter.

At Shy Violet Photography we have been doing the 1st Birthday cake smash photo session for 7.5 years. Our sessions have changed over the years and we now offer more themes and colour schemes than ever before.

At Shy Violet Photography we are as mad about dogs as we are about babies and children. We offer Portrait Dog/ Pet Photography and also the Doggy Cake Smash.

Natural and Creative Newborn Photography
At Shy Violet Photography, we offer you the very natural newborn photography together with the more creative side too, offering you the choice of many beautiful ideas/props at no extra charge.
The birth of your newborn baby is a beautiful time in your life that you will never forget … let us help you capture those very precious early days. Our newborn photography is up to 4 weeks young, with our favourite time between 6 and 12 days.
If you have not yet had your baby … we would recommend booking a date around your due date. This can be changed if necessary once your little bundle of joy arrives.
Newborn photography sessions are up to 3 hours allowing for feeding, soothing and cuddles throughout. We realise how very precious your newborn baby is to you and we take the greatest care during the session, and ensure that the studio is kept lovely and warm.
