Pablo’s 1st Birthday Dog Cake Smash
This is the supercute Pablo, celebrating his 1st Birthday with us in the studio with a Dog Cake Smash.
And he loved it … no encouragement needed from any of us and to be honest he ate far more than he should!
The longer the shoot went on, the more we all laughed out loud – so too cute.
Once we thought Pablo had eaten enough cake … we then put him into our posing roll top baby bath for just a couple more pics to finish the shoot off.
I love our dog cake smash sessions as much as I love the baby cake smash – they are genuinely such great fun for all of us.
Pablo came to use for his birthday but the dog cake smash sessions can be done at any age and for any reason.

Olivia’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
Olivia’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
This is the gorgeous Olivia, celebrating her 1st Birthday with us with our 3-in-1 Happimess session to include the Cake Smash.
Olivia’s colouring really really suits our champagne backdrop colour scheme for the Cake Smash – the champagne colour really suits the dark hair and complexion. Not so much for the fair english roses amongst us 🙂
I call our Cake Smash sessions our 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one to celebrate the 1st Birthday. So Olivia started off with our giant wooden letters spelling ‘One’. She was an absolute natural.
After this, her mum changed Olivia into another outfit and as I so wanted to see Olivia with her hair down … mum agreed and oh my goodness – just gorgeous. And she loved it … no encouragement needed from any of us and once we showed Olivia that the cake was really for smashing up she really got stuck in.
The longer the shoot went on, the more I fell for little Olivia – and she made us all laugh out loud a lot throughout the session.
Once she had had enough of cake smashing, we then put her into our posing roll top baby bath, leaving as much cake on her as poss to start with … put the bubbles on and let her enjoy her little self. She really loved it – she kept throwing her arms in the air as she got more and more excited.
I just love our cake smash sessions – they are genuinely such great fun for your baby and for you as the parents … and for me too!

Greyson’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
Greyson’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
This is Greyson celebrating his 1st Birthday with us in the studio with a 3-in-1 Happimess session with a Mickey Mouse theme.
We call our Cake Smash sessions our 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one to celebrate the 1st Birthday. So Greyson started with our giant wooden letters spelling ‘One’ which he thoroughly enjoyed – and I was able to change the colours of the letters (usually orange, purple and limegreen) to the Mickey Mouse themed colours in photoshop in the final edit. I use this part of the photo session to get your baby used to me, the studio and the studio flash lights.
After this, we got out the cake … and it all went wrong – LOL. Greyson really didn’t like the cake smash concept … from the word go, he didn’t want to get his hands in it or taste it – so we got very few cake smash smiley pics. Once his mum and dad had decided that cake smashing really wasn’t for Greyson, we then put him into our posing roll top baby bath, put the bubbles on and let him have fun in the tub … he loved it – loved the bubbles and the splashing – he was all smiles in the tub.
Not all babies love the idea of getting covered in cakey goo … but as you will see from the images below we still managed to get fab pics … and you can see the fun he had in the tub and with his letters – so still plenty of pics for the parents to choose from.

Mollie’s Newborn Photo Session at 8 days young
Mollie’s Newborn Photo Session at 8 days young
Little Mollie came to the studio at 8 days young for her Newborn Photo Session. Mollie was such a well behaved little newborn baby girl, sleeping soundly for her curled up shots.
Our newborn photo sessions are very relaxed and I allow up to 3 hours to capture the various newborn poses … I keep the studio very warm and cosy and allow plenty of time for feeding, cuddling and soothing between these poses.
My favourite time to capture your newborn baby is between 6 and 12 days and I class my newborn sessions as up to 4 weeks young. This is the best time to capture the oh so beautiful natural, curled up shots before they start becoming more alert and not sleeping so well after feeds.

Teddy’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
Teddy’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash
This is Teddy, celebrating his 1st Birthday with us in the studio with a 3-in-1 Happimess session to include the Cake Smash. Teddy thoroughly enjoyed himself through out the whole session as you can see from his pics below.
We call our Cake Smash sessions our 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one to celebrate the 1st Birthday. So Teddy started with our giant wooden letters spelling ‘One’ and we also used the small cream wooden letters too. This is the least fun for your baby but still Teddy enjoyed this and interacted with the letters really well. I use the letters shoot to get your baby used to me, the studio and the studio flash lights.
After this, Teddy got changed into another outfit and gave him his cake and from the start, he got really stuck in. First of all tasting the gooey thick icing, then the icing discs – and then we showed Teddy that it wasn’t really for eating but for smashing up – and gave him a large wooden spoon to help him smash it up. Teddy was smiles and giggles the whole way through.
Once Teddy had finished his Cake Smash and was covered in blue extra gooey butter cream icing … We then put him into our posing roll top baby bath, put the bubbles on and let Teddy chillax in the tub … he loved it – loved the bubbles and the splashing and a little rubber duck. It really was such a good time had by all.

Meet little Olivia, at just 6 days young, she was the perfect little newborn baby girl, sleeping soundly for her curled up shots, and smiling for quite a few shots too. And her big sister Emilia at 2 joined her for a couple of very supercute pics (see below)

Meet Isla, celebrating her 1st Birthday with us in the studio with a Cake Smash. And what fun we ALL had. Isla is such a little character and she had so much fun which shows in all her Cake Smash and Tub pics.
When Isla first walked in and saw that Martha and Murphy were here with me (my 2 little shih tzus) – she literally couldn’t smile any wider and they both joined us for the entire photo session – but they can just as easily be shut out of the studio.
We call our Cake Smash sessions our 3-in-1 ‘Happimess’ session as we do 3 shoots as one to celebrate the 1st Birthday. So Isla started with our giant wooden letters spelling ‘One’. After this, mum changed Isla into another outfit and we put Isla around the cake – from the word go, Isla got really stuck in. First of all tasting the gooey thick icing, then the icing discs – and then we showed Isla that it wasn’t really for eating but for smashing up – and the faces Isla pulled whilst having fun with her cake were just priceless and made us all laugh out loud a lot.
Once Isla was done cake smashing and was covered in cakey gooey mess … We then put her into our posing roll top baby bath, put the bubbles on and let Isla do her thing. She loved it – loved the bubbles and the splashing. It really was such a good time had by all.

Well it’s come round far too quickly again … but as a photographer I am now starting to think about Christmas. And a Gift Voucher for a family photo session is such a very thoughtful gift.
Family shoots can include babies from 5 to 6 months old and any age. They can include grandparents, other family members and their children – so large family groups can be accommodated.

We are happy to offer a Combination Photo Shoot, where we can incorporate family shots on the white and another option for your little ones – ideas are Bubbles Shoot, Vintage Shoot, Fun Shoot on a Colour of your choice using balloons, pompoms, bunting.
If the weather is good, we can always go into the woods in the studio grounds to get some lovely outdoor shots.

I absolutely adore dogs – Martha and Murphy my 2 little shih tzus are with me almost all the time now at the studio as everyone just loves them. The studio set up is large enough to shut them out of the shoot tho if required and often they are.
I’ve been doing the 1st birthday baby cake smash now for 7.5 years and have only just recently introduced our Doggy/Puppy Cake Smash photo session. And I love these as much for your fur baby as I do all babies.
With the baby Cake Smash, the best time to do this is definitely the 1st Birthday… but with the Doggy Cake Smash this can be done at any age and for any reason. Recently we have had a 1st birthday, a rescue doggy and one doggy getting over a heart operation … what could be more of a treat for your fur baby?

This is Marvin – a 20 week old sausage doggy who just loved eating his cake … and really loved his tub time, it was hard to get him out of the water 🙂
